Just thoughts

TikTok is the world’s largest casino.
If it hasn’t become any clearer for children, teenagers, and young adults recently, our world lately has been festering with companies that thrive on capitalising the attention of us, the young and fickle-minded, through apps like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. In using these “services”, we endlessly pull the lever day-by-day with every scroll and tap. You pay money to play a slot machine, you pay time to scroll TikTok. Yet in the similarity between the two, there is no barrier to entry to entering the pocket casino, anyone young or old, wise or dumb, can enter these casinos without once being asked for their ID.
If we let those that come after us continue exactly as we have now, we as humans lose potential, instead of becoming adept in a skill or making ourselves useful, we waste their time away being connoisseurs of moving our thumbs down to the bottom of our screen and flicking it up as if our thumb is nothing more than a flaccid penis that spontaneously erects every time we demand a new TikTok, Instagram Reel, or YouTube Short.
A thought.
A nice gauge for if something has become too popular is by its becoming of a verb. You don’t search something on the web, you Google it. You don’t ask an Artificial Intelligence Chatbot, you ChatGPT it.
